A paradox can be defined as a self contradictory statement which can only be true if it's false and false if it's true, it relates to a state where one is logically compelled to contradict ones self, in essence a paradox leaves one in a mental state of puzzlement if one was in fact right when one thought they were wrong and vice versa. A 'catch 22' is a paradoxical situation where one can not escape because of contradictory rules, rules that have been setup by individuals who are believed to have reached a degree of 'perfection' so much so that rules made are enforced, irrespective of the situation that is created from the enforcement of such rules, individuals are in fact not able to fight these rules not because they lack the will power or resources to, but fighting it actually means accepting it.
