To Thine Own Self Be True by Nassim Ismaila

As simple as this may sound it carries a more complex subject that will leave us at bewilderment rather than feeling inspired.  Before we begin with the simplicity of this saying as Shakespeare's age long honored words in hamlet when Polonius said it to his son Laertes, let us first understand the depths in the word 'self'. 'Self' is largely the 'consciousness' of your own identity. Understanding consciousness however is another topic for discussion, 'awareness' would be the simplified version of consciousness. Human existence and consciousness is largely governed by emotional dispositions, a suicidal person has the consciousness expressed by anxiety, sometimes paranoia and what would be described as suicidal symptoms or 'suicidal consciousness' in this sense, for the person who is depressed and hence suicidal, is only 'aware' to depressive thoughts of things falling apart and so on, it can then be argued that the consciousness of ...

GLASS HOUSES by Ismaila A. Nassim

From the essence of time, sin and the forgiveness of sin has plagued mankind, it cannot be overemphasized that all men (women inclusive) sin and we all find a remission or pardoning for that which we hold to be sin, but to start this discussion properly, let us first understand what sin is and the concept of sin. Sin from many definitions means 'to violate a moral law' theologians have defined it as 'a transgression of Gods will' another definition puts it 'estrangement from God', the idea of sin and sinning is violating laws or tenets layed down by God through chosen leaders who convey the will and desires of God through his word, so these laws are not manmade laws but laws from God himself, therefore when you sin, you have sinned against God and he alone has the capacity to forgive that which you have committed or omitted as the case maybe, for to say 'you are forgiven' broadly means, ' that which you have done that is regarded as sin, is no longer...

THE ILLUSION OF PERFECTION (Ismaila Nassim)

Perfection, as we broadly understand it, is the highest degree of excellence, having no faults being accurately and inexcusably excellent. It means that whatever it is in question that is 'perfect' is of a distinctive nature/qual ity that makes it stand out from other things and hence perfect compared to any other, but what then shall we say when the perfect thing in question stands without a comparative to be compared with or against, is it then having all sense of excellence bei n g the only one? How then does it stand to be compared by itself and then emerge 'perfect'?. Perfection therefore, is the standard by which everyone and everything is compared. Who or what then makes this 'standard'? By what means or law has this standard o f comparison been structured? And what determines a person's approval of being 'perfect' by breaking the 'perfection threshold'?. We hear and make statements such as: 'it's a perfect day', 'they...
